You aren’t fascinated by the ongoing drama in Michael’s love life?

I can't even get through 3 seconds of those ads before I switch the station.

Then it's on the next one in a couple of minutes.

That's when I wake up and switch back to my car's usb drive.

But, Harls, Fiona is not a "stupid woman", she was a teacher for years. She understands how 'created diamonds' are created.

And, of course, there is the hook of Sarah's and Michael's smoldering relationship. Did Sarah decide something while away? Personally, I'm not sure that the relationship will work out. Sarah (like a Spence diamond) has a lot of 'Sparkle'. She is full of life and adventurous. Michael does not exude those qualities. But, every diamond needs a ring to complete it. Maybe Michael will be the traditional band, holding Sarah as the stand-out solitaire.

Questions abound. What did Fiona and Sarah discuss (about Michael) when Fiona visited her? And what will Fiona and (little brother) Callum discuss (about Michael) on their 4,000 kilometre drive to College Square, in Ottawa? Has Fiona taken on a second career - as a match-maker? (And will she work on Callum next?)

How have you not been caught up in this. It is a little radio 'soap opera' (without the sound effects). People listen to hear what is happening with the interesting characters. (And they learn about Spence Diamonds as a side 'benefit'.)

Evanov closed three local radio stations on September 20:
https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/lite-98-5-...lose-1.7027013

Two less Country music stations, 'Hot Country' 92.5 and 107.7, and one less Adult music station, 'Lite 98.5'.

Both formats are pretty crowded on the dial. I am a little surprised they didn’t try another format.

Over the air radio lost me as a user several years ago. I'd rather pay for satellite radio than listen to the formula driven same songs over and over. If they had some variety it might be worth the trouble to endure the commercials but with the limited playlists I can't be bothered any more.

Like so many other things consolidation of ownership of the product has ruined it.

What's the key diamond demographic now 40-54 year old women? They the only ones listening to music radio anymore? Will the return of commuting help both in the car and all day in the office.

Good riddance. Can't stand country. I will somewhat miss 98.5 though.

I know we listened to the radio every time we commuted by car. If we commute by transit, or work from home, we barely ever listen to the radio. I feel like I don't know any of the new music.

One more step towards the abolition of "country" music. About time.

I was always surprised that Hawkesbury and Rockland had commercial radio stations, and that they were anglophone country stations to boot. Of course, some francophones will listen to radio in English and some also like country. It's just surprising as a choice of market to implant themselves in.

These places are more francophone community radio markets, and indeed the Prescott-Russell station GO FM, which I believe is based in Casselman, is looking to pick up the defunct station's "assets". Whatever that means.

I assume it refers to antenna capacity, but who knows - might be more than that.

People still use the radio? I haven’t turned mine on in my car in years. Just connect my Apple Music and go.
