On a side note, it looks like Premier Smith's dream of Red Deer being at a 1,000,000 people is a long way off. 6 housing starts in August.
I have noticed a whole lot of projects being declared on and along Stony Plain Road which is interesting.

Regrettably not as much inside the Henday ring. SW and NW (Ray Gibbons west to Highway 60 and North of the Yellowhead) are exploding. I would love to see less SFH and more multi family or multi story development. It is nice to see 2 tower crane up in St Al.

A large majority of the housing built in new communities are small lot single detached, semi's or row housing. It's vastly different then what was developed through the 70's-early 2000's. Just look at any map and look at the size of the lots in those neighbourhoods versus today.

Might be true in Edmonton, but I'm thinking he is talking about Sturgeon County.

Sturgeon County is acreage/estate subdivisions. In St. Albert they are essentially the same as the City - majority of the new housing is on smaller lots with an increasing proportion of semi's and row housing.

I really liked that one ALT hotel proposal for 104st. Wish that one went ahead. Wouldve helped break up the langham wall of white stucco twins.

Looks like they are doing an art project on the front of the Building on Jasper and 107st (the old Oil City Roadhouse location).

I was hoping they were going to blow that building up as part of the redevelopment.

20 floors would have been better. IMO what is proposed looks like a walkup apartment building in suburbia.

Well, I'm sure Cold can provide an explanation as to why Westrich isn't building a tower there
