According to the latest EGM salary surveys, the majority of Engineers in the private sector get some sort of contribution match from their Employers.
It's not a pension. Pensions have defined annual incomes for as long as the person is alive. RRSP/DPSP have a pot of money that you manage, but it is not infinite.
