Thanks for the update, it's looking great. I don't see any departure from the original design, the balconies should look more proportionate once more are installed.

The original design had the honeycomb shapes protruding from the glass.

Yes, that's what I'm seeing installed at the SW corner on floors 2 and 3.

Yes, I think I was mistaken about that, the honeycomb elements have just not been added yet, you can see some on the lower left side, in progress.

Would like to have seen them use super clear, low iron glass and let the wooden beams speak for themselves. The honeycomb spandrel cheapens it imo.

As statedin the previous comments and as visible in the image with the SW corner, the honeycomb "spandrel" will be concealed with the projecting honeycomb frame (and which will include the balconies in the parts that have them) once it's fully installed so it looks more like the original rendering.

I'm assuming the frame will be clad in metal panel or metal-coloured panel cladding to finish the look and further tie it to the original render and whether that cheapens the whole look remains to tbe seen.

But at least at that point no one can accuse them of deviating too much (or at all) from the original design and renders.

They have food delivery parking in the back lane beside CRU 1. I wonder what their sales numbers will be with no parking lot/drive thru. I wonder if it makes any sense to lease COV's lots for McDonald's customer parking until they are ready for development?

Maybe it's a solar gain issue? I think that's what the renderings had with some darker bands closer to each floor slab.

Wow the interior looks more interesting than the exterior. A shame they couldn't show off more of the cross laminated timber construction in the exterior design. I would've used the money from the gimmicky honeycomb to detail and weather-treat the hell out of the perimeter structure so that it could be outside the glazing line

Crane issue at the Hive construction site has resulted in closing both Great Northern Way and part of the Millennium Line SkyTrain.
