It is inevitable.
Not only the vision lands, they own the entire western portion of the Humphrey Brook plan area as well. Also, I’m not sure which Irving company owns what. It makes more sense that an Irving Oil related company owns the land downtown as I believe there was some sort of service station on the land at one point. I’m pretty sure that Robert Irving used Cavendish Farms to purchase the Humphrey’s Brook land. They’ve likely used the forestry company to buy the vision lands properties, but I’m not privy to that information so can’t say for sure.

That is just the land we know about as well, who knows what other random parcels they have bought and held on to for years.

Meal was four stars. Service was a little slow, but, they have been open less than a week, so you have to cut them some slack.

I will be back!

My server said they are still training staff, and this is the soft opening. I assume that means a grand opening in the future.

A mosque and a community centre is planned for 224 Killam Drive (from Mayor Dawn Arnold's summary of this evening's city council meeting).

I live not far from this address… there is a building currently use as a mosque on site…not surprise with this announcement, the building is quite small … there a huge Syrian population near by.

Here is a rendering of the proposed mosque on Killam Drive:

The building would have prayer rooms, a community hall, kitchen and facility for holding funerals.

Good to see - my office is just up the street from the mosque on High Street, which is full to bursting on Friday afternoons, and limited parking. Love the huge increase in cultural diversity in city the last ten years (having lived here for over 50).

Its been a long time since theres been any serious or positive development news for Killam drive. An area that has some potential given its proximity to all of the activities and trade shows at the Coliseum. Hard to believe there was once an indoor go kart track on Killam lol.

I'm sure they are excited to move to that location considering where their current location is (in the middle of a homeless alley). Better exposure to boot!

I have no idea, I haven't seen any renderings. They prepped the re-bar last week, I'm assuming the concrete will be poured this week

According to their site, the anticipated completion is for the summer of 2025. If/when they do another project, I hope they go higher!

Now there working on the Quinn court apartment in riverview but I’m pretty sure they bought another piece of land around lutz street downtown. Hopefully they will go above 10 stories.
