happy to see those parking lots finally gone - and wonder how many more 'revitalization projects' it will take before the other land owners/developers start developing; not that these arent worthwhile endeavors in their own right, but at-grade LRT, arena, alex decoteau park, that quarters park, capital blvd, and now this mega park, and you begin to wonder if all these together can only marginally move the development needle, what else can really be done to give downtown a proper kick in the pants to actually transform; and how many more generations will it take.
I think of Calgary's east village, despite the many surface lots still there, it's nice, clean, and has amenities. Nice looking buildings too. I would live somewhere like that if it existed downtown.
Fingers crossed this park does something, and we can finally get even a few blocks of desirable development downtown that's actually worth spending money on to live at.
