Victoria Bridge (Ridout St at Thames River)

So the City Facebook page just posted about the concrete being poured on the bridge deck and mentioned that everything is progressing to having this area open by late spring 2024. WTF?

Seems about right. Still months of work left on the bridge deck then you got the sidewalks and railings, electrical and then final painting and touch-ups. Hopefully we see the CN underpass at Wharncliffe started as soon as this bridge opens.

Surprising to see you of all people saying seems about right when this bridge has been closed for a year and a half and was supposed to open this fall.

They have now poured the concrete bridge deck and sidewalks. Working now on the side walls.

Reopening of this bridge is now delayed to summer and of course will cost more money.

WTF, they said the Wharncliffe bridge will not be starting until 2028?? Are they joking?

I can definitley see that bridge collapsing way before that, so I think I'm going to start avoiding that area. It's sad our city council is useless as usual. Like why don't they grow a set and go ask province or feds for more money? FFS if Hamilton and all the GTA cities can get this funding, why can't we? Hamilton got 1 billion and more for LRT.

Grading the north and south roadway approaches to the bridge deck now with some of the concrete curbs now formed and poured.

Some of the west side sidewalk sections have now been poured on the approaches. Should see the north and south roadway approaches final grading and paving soon.

They have now installed the base coat of asphalt on both the south and north approaches to the bridge. Still have to fix the TVP path under the north side of the bridge and driveway entrance into London Hydro and entrance into Thames Park.

Bridge set to open finally this week. The top coat of asphalt in now installed and the lines painted. They have also paved the driveway into Hydro London but not yet for the Thames park driveway.


What: Victoria Bridge opening

When: July 4, 11:30 am to 12:30 p.m.

Details: Ribbon cutting, speeches, activities, music. Opens to traffic later in the day.
