It looks like the project has been downsized a bit from its previous iteration but will retain some architectural features of the prior design, as well as incorporating the red brick facade of the old building. The project is being coined as 'The USask Engineering IDEAS' expansion (Innovation, Design, Engineering, and Applied Sciences) and will also include renovations to the existing building. Personally, I like the new design; it works well with the existing building. Like many of the other proposals in this forum, I think this project is long overdue. Hopefully, this new information is a sign that the project is progressing and that construction will begin in the not-too-distant future.

I much prefer this rendering tho the previous ones from Brook McIlroy. They may still be the designer, but this mix of glass & red brick walls strikes me as much better solution for the U of S than the full glass box originally proposed: https://brookmcilroy.com/projects/university-of-saskatchewan-college-of-engineering-master-plan/

A list of sites/projects receiving Housing Accelerator funding has been posted in the City's PD&CS committee agenda: https://pub-saskatoon.escribemeetings.co...nda&lang=English&Item=18&Tab=attachments

In total, 18 projects and 492 units of affordable housing will be funded. Exciting times!

There are a few interesting site addresses in the list...I tried finding project information and renders on some of the sites that I haven't seen mentioned in this thread to no avail. Here are my top projects from the list:

1202 & 1204 College Drive - 65 units (!) - 14North Construction Ltd.

201 & 203 Avenue E North - 15 units - CFN Construction Ltd.
411, 413 & 415 18th Street West - 15 units - CFN Construction Ltd.

106, 108 & 110 - 110th Street West - 56 units - Vox Developments

Great scoop! Some interesting sites for multi-unit infill buildings (streetview links below). I imagine that these projects will also likely be benefitting from the removal of parking minimums.

1202 & 1204 College Drive: https://www.google.ca/maps/@52.1289257,-..._ep=EgoyMDI0MDgyNy4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

321 Avenue C North also stuck out to me as a notable address, which is the Caswell Bus Barns property that just got rezoned, so I guess these incentives are for the apartment building component (pictured on the left): https://www.saskatoon.ca/engage/south-caswell-redevelopment

Great find! Caswell Bus Barns is a perfect fit for HAF!
The report mentioned 18 Projects and 492 units for 2024. These are considered 5 projects? Does anyone have remaining locations?

Click the link in my post, then open up Appendices 1 and 3 on agenda item 6.2.1 to see a list of properties as well as a map of Saskatoon with the properties highlighted.

Intersting sale. That's a lot of great under-utilized land

I like the photoshopped/AI? people in the foreground juxtaposed with the guy hauling cans on his bike in the background that just came with the photo they used

KSA’s obsession with giant vertical building numbers is kind of hilarious to me.

I like the size of these buildings, but the sidewall of 201 Ave E N is uninspiring for the street frontage along 23rd. Just my opinion, I’m no architect haha

I'm assuming/hoping that these are just to show the massing of what could work for that number of units and with the new regulations. I'd guess/hope each site would get it's own more detailed design.

They were just adding a bit of realism to the rendering.

This was reported in AllSask a few weeks back, and my recollection is foggy but I think the new owner is the Siemens family.

Is this too far away from the DEED site to potentially meet the City's needs for a parkade as part of the development plan? Maybe a few additional floors could be added?

I am not saying that would be my hope for this site...but, perhaps it is a more economical option for the city to consider as it tries to meet its needs for parking related to the DEED.

Is this far away from the DEED site?????? It's only 2 1/2 to 3 blocks away!!!!!!

You can see the Hilton Garden Inn from it which is right next to the proposed new arena.

Didn't Edgar properties own that parkade at one time and planned for a 12 story office building?

I think that mock up project was called ' 275 2nd Ave '. I recall seeing an image or two with a quick drawing of the building years ago on Google.
