I'm glad you guys liked it! Here's another photo, posted by Pure Detroit, that shows the new skyline from a distance as well as the recently installed DETROIT sign. Detroit's skyline (plus a little bit of Windsor's) has never looked this good!

Currently watching Yankees/Tigers, and I keep seeing shots of this tower in the background.

It makes me so damn happy to see a major new skyscraper on Detroit's skyline! Beautiful!

This building fits right in with all the pre-war towers. Instant classic, and a much needed 21st century boost to the Detroit skyline.

Wow those two shots are gorgeous. Love the mini Sears-like vibe from this.

It looks like all the top several floors are all mechanical. I figured it would be a big penthouse suite or a surprise public observation deck. Either way, view looks nice from up there.

Some seriously great vibes going on with this building. It's tall, but doesn't seem nearly as oppressive to the older pre-war towers as so many of the other postwar towers in the skyline. Those last few pictures really also demonstrate how incredible the Penobscot Building is.

Yesterday and today I walked through the entire 5 km of the Windsor Riverfront trail to see how the Hudson Tower looked from various angles. I took dozens of photos and the four below are the most illustrative.

This photo was taken on the 9th floor of my hotel, Holiday Inn Express Windsor Waterfront:

Near the east end of the trail:

Further west:

This was taken fairly close to the Ambassador Bridge. At this distance it's hard to tell whether Hudson is taller or shorter than the RenCen:

Renaissance Centre looks so disconnected from the rest of Downtown Detroit. It almost looks like it is photo-shopped in.

From this perspective, the RenCen looks better integrated with the rest of the Financial District, whereas the Hudson Tower looks very plain since we can't see its setbacks:
