No problem. Hopefully one day I can get a decent telephoto. Also, looking forward to more life returning to downtown as we roll into a post-covid world (hopefully).

Yeah I think we're all ready for the comeback. Just saw that PoBoyz Cajun Creole Kitchen opened in the former Bijou space on SW 3rd. Didn't even know Bijou had closed! They are open for lunch but they'll have dinner soon I believe and live music.

Perhaps we need a new “Portland Infill | South Portland” thread.

Anyways, it looks like McDonald’s is planning on moving into the vacated Wells Fargo space at 5615 S Macadam Ave. This is extraordinarily disheartening for me as I live just a few blocks away and, not to be that guy, but I worry about the kind of “trash” McDonald’s is going to attract.

How is this allowed under city code? There’s an old “drive through” ATM area but there’s absolutely no way that is going to be repurposed for the “dual lane drive through” that McDonald’s is proposing. That sounds like a full on addition of a new drive through, which shouldn’t be allowed in city limits.

Any chance this gets killed? I’d probably move if it proceeds, which sucks. I just don’t want to live near a McDonald’s.

Excited for my Alma Mater! The current school is frozen in time from when I attended (decades ago). It needs a total demo.

FWIW, that rendering of the building is off. They clearly shrunk the football field and eliminated the stands in the picture. I hope they really think through the sighting and elevations well. Watching a fall football game at sunset in those stands could be amazing.
