Easyhome is closing down their Lansdowne Plaza location in the north end. They've been there for a very long time so it's surprising to see them leaving this plaza.

The chatter is that the lease is up and the landlord, (Plaza REIT), wants them to sign a 15 year lease which Easyhome doesn't want to.

So it will just leave their east side location at 212 McAllister Drive left open here in the city.

Saint John: After 76 years in business the Titus Bakery, (15 Prince Edward Street), is unfortunately closing for good. Staff and owner has confirmed the news to multiple people. Next week is their final week.

Spirit Halloween will be opening on August 24th at 90 Consumers Drive, (same spot as last year next to Carter’s).

I see Stacked Pancakes westside location is showing as open with the eastside location as "coming soon". Anyone been yet?

It’s not open yet, it showed that since day 1. If you look through “view all locations” and if the online ordering button for the location is highlighted then it’s open. Both SJ ones are greyed out, so it’s not open yet.

Oh, OK.......Thanks, you saved me a trip to the Westside for nothing.

Weird that one would show open and the other coming soon. Somebody in the IT dept. would seem to have dropped the ball.

It appears that Freshly Squeezed is who is going in Vintage Pursuit’s previous spot near the food court at McAllister Place, (next to Rogers). The spot has been under renovation for a couple months. Nice to see them returning to the mall after closing their kiosk back in 2020.

Looks like Freak Lunchbox is opening a 2nd SJ location at McAllister Place. A coming soon sign is up at the former Body Shop spot.

My City Life has found their new home at 90 Consumers Drive, next to Carter's OshKosh. Opening in a few short weeks they said.

The Source at McAllister Place is now currently renovating into Best Buy Express.

Both Firehouse Subs and Stacked Pancake House is opening soon next to Michaels Crafts on Majors Brook Drive.

A source has said that the former Queens Buffet at Parkway Mall, (next to Value Village), has been leased to a new tenant. I wonder who the new tenant is?

Also, Christmas Discounters is opening at 90 Consumers Drive, (next to Ren's Pets), at the end of the month or on October 1st. Smaller location this year, due to lack of available space.

I take it this is them advertising for someone to open up a franchise in Saint John? With the departure of Taste of Egypt from Uptown, it would be amazing to see one open Uptown ala the many Boustan’s found around downtown Montreal, as those ones have a much more authentic vibe.

Never been to one of their locations in the Montreal suburbs or the one in Moncton, but I’d eat there way too often if one opened up on the West Side.

A crane is up and the structural steel framing is now up for a new building right directly next to PetSmart. Anyone know what is confirmed to be going there?

Multiple different rumours have came up. (A Dollarama, a RBC bank, a Lebanese restaurant, or ground floor commercial space with a 2nd floor for Northrup group offices). Wonder what exactly is confirmed to be going there.

(FYI, the planned apartment buildings will be further to the left of this, in the empty land in the central portion of the property. Separate project/area from what I’m talking about.).

Building permits were registered for:

No Frills at 212 McAllister Drive (Parkway Mall).
Napa Auto Parts at 621 Fairville Boulevard (Lancaster Mall).

Both of them are registered for “interior fit ups”.

Bubbles Haircare for Kids has announced they are opening their flagship salon in December 2024. Will be located inside the Atlantic Superstore building at 168 Rothesay Avenue.

Just got a locally-targeted consumer sentiment survey about Mezze from Narrative in my inbox. With one in Fredericton and two in Moncton I'm not surprised they're looking at SJ.
