Thanks for posting this Paniolo Man. I wonder if people realize how huge this is going to be for the St. George/Cedar City area. Hollywood has been itching to build major film infrastructure in the St. George area for many years now. Finally, it's happening and by one of the film industry's top-quality superstar actors/directors/producers. Costner definitely won't have a problem gathering investors now that he is making the commitment. His commitment will likely bode well for future film studio production facilities expansion into the Utah market. Can't wait to see how this project expands the entire film industry all over the State of Utah. Amongst a long list Utah's scenic film locale, proximity to Vegas and L.A., economic engine, has so much more potential than many States, especially New Mexico.
Hold on, there’s no way they will actually demolish the Shakespeare theater right? I didn’t know it hadn’t been in use for 9 years. Anyone know why it’s not being used?

They replaced it with a newer, larger, safer, less historically accurate theater.
Turns out being faithful to the design of theaters built hundreds of years ago is at odds with ADA.
Power plant construction is well under way at 2 of the well pad sites, drilling seems to be taking place at a third. Fervo claims the first phase will be complete next year.
Plans to add an urban trail and traffic-calming measures to 700 East have been in the books since before March 2021, when the city of St. George hosted a cycling event that turned the east side of the road into a two-lane bike trail.
Currently, 700 East, also known as University Avenue, has traffic cones running from 700 South to St. George Boulevard. Roadwork currently underway and scheduled for the near future focuses on median installation, road striping, bulb outs (curb extensions) and landscaping.

Part of the traffic calming measures went into effect over a year ago, putting stop signs 600 S and 100 S. I can say that they have worked. I used to drive on this road frequently going between my office and a common lunch spot because it was a quick route. With the stop signs in place, I almost always take 200 E now instead.
