Idaho~The Wilderness State
I saw this in Ketchum. I used to have both of these bumper stickers![Cheers](images/smilies/cheers.gif)
We have the largest designated Wilderness in the Lower 48, the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, and some of the largest roadless alpine national forest areas in the Lower 48. Idaho also is the most forested of the inland western states.
Some people don't realize there is the Owyhee River Wilderness in the Canyonlands south of Boise which includes some of the most scenic and deep desert river canyons on the continent. The Sawtooth Wilderness has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Boise is probably, most likely, the best city in the Lower 48 for quick and easy access to mountains, forests and wilderness, natural hot springs and definitely the best city for whitewater access.
We all enjoy growth here at this forum, but sometimes it stresses me out when our beautiful outdoors are more packed with people than ever before.

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse
