I expect the full panoply of traffic calming measures to be employed (especially for that price) - curb bump-outs, speed bumps and elevated pedestrian crosswalks, all in generous quantities.
I live in the general neighourhood, and the local citizenry has been quite irate about speeding along Twin Oaks. City council appears to be acquiescing to their concerns.
To be fair, speeding is a concern, but, this is because Twin Oaks is a weird "tweener" type of street - not a leafy cul de sac, but also not a collector.
Twin Oaks
should have been at least a collector, if not an arterial. It should have extended through to Casino Drive and the TCH, and it's southern extension (Horsman Road) should extend to at least St. George Blvd, if not Salisbury Road. It should have been the western cousin of Dieppe Blvd. But, alas, while Dieppe Blvd has been designed appropriately for this roll (limited access with high density residential and commercial frontage) , the city squandered the opportunity to do the same with Twin Oaks.
Twin Oaks is wide, relatively straight, and could have served as a fine collector. Instead, the city is retrofitting it to become just another suburban street, which will only serve to further impede traffic flow and lead to increasing congestion.
