I'm pretty sure Extell owns it now. They spent almost $1 billion on the site.

Also I doubt Landmark West, a crazy NIMBY group, can get a zoning change, and if they did, Extell could just sue. You can't change the zoning after the fact.

It's the City that will allow the rezoning. They did the same thing on the east side, and something similar also on the Upper West Side with respect to mechanical floor heights (which they were expected to expand to the rest of the city). The excuse here is that the site would have been included in the original zoning, were it not for ABC headquarters.

EXtell has indeed purchased the site from Silverstein, who previously sold off a portion of the holdings.

Barnett lands $900M for Disney UWS campus

MAR 23, 2022

Quote:
Extell recently purchased the West 67th Street property from Silverstein Properties and Seven VAlleys for about $930 million, the Commercial Observer reported. The developer scored at least $900 million in acquisition financing from Guggenheim Partners and Aquarian Holdings.

Disney will continue to lease the Upper West Side space as construction continues on its new headquarters. Barnett’s plans for the longtime campus space are currently unclear.
