My mistake. You're right. Should be interesting nevertheless. Both given the timing and the flack we've seen getting for underspending.

I still remember all the military jets flying overhead when the G8 was in Calgary. This will be even more interesting.

The Parliamentary Assembly is backbenchers. Julie Dzerowicz is Canada’s head of delegation. I would not expect a big security operation.

As AC says Apples and blueberries. Calgary ( Kanaskis) is hosting the G7 again next summer so you can look forward to jets then.

Just a reminder that the Russian scum continue their war on Ukraine:

Russian airstrikes kill at least 36 in Ukraine, damage Kyiv children's hospital

Deadly attacks also occurred Monday in the cities of Kryvyi Rih and Pokrovsk
Thomson Reuters · Posted: Jul 08, 2024 6:16 AM EDT | Last Updated: 1 hour ago

Russia blasted the main children's hospital in Kyiv with a missile in broad daylight on Monday and rained missiles down on other cities across Ukraine, killing at least 36 civilians in the deadliest wave of air strikes for months.

Parents holding babies walked in the street outside, dazed and sobbing after the rare daylight aerial attack. Windows were smashed and panels ripped off, and hundreds of Kyiv residents were helping clear debris.…

Hospitals get hit in wars. This was likely done on purpose. Designed to make Ukraine shift resources to Kyiv and feel resistance is hopeless. Small chance it was an accident. The Ukrainians certainly weren`t firing missiles from the hospital nor would there even be soliders there as a childrens hospital.

Sounds like a plan is about to be presented for Canada to reach 2% spending on our military. Subs appear to be a big part of it.
