So much has changed since I moved away from campus in early 2020, I'll have to go out and see things for myself soon.

UBC Applied Sciences Digital Design Studio

From Shape Architecture twitter June 10th:


The UBC Applied Sciences Digital Design Studio project is currently under construction. It will be situated in the service yard of the existing Chemical and Biological Engineering (CHBE) Building. This rendering shows a view of the North Elevation in the Service Yard.

That's weird seeing all the steel studs in the mass timber building.

I guess it lowers their fire risk profile to have non-flammable interior walls in a mass timber building.
