Well, it's another year where our trophy goes somewhere it isn't properly appreciated, but that was a fun week. I, for one, underestimated Edmonton right up until Game 4 but have great respect for the squad and fans now. Have a great summer up there.

Really great series all around and an absolutely wild ride. Would have preferred to see Edmonton win the Cup, but it’s always nice to see a team win their first Cup.

In the last five years, three of those five Stanley Cups went to Florida… a fourth one almost went there too (Lightning was in the finals), and the fifth one went to Vegas, while the entirely of Canada has a 31+ year Cup drought.

Really weird, from the point of view of my childhood, let alone anyone who grew up with the “Original Six”

Congrats Oilers for coming back from 0-3 to 3-3, a feat that hadn’t been seen since WWII (as pointed out earlier by someone else). I am still thoroughly impressed — at 0-3 I would have bet on a sweep.

Panthers were in the final last year as well when Vegas won. 5 in a row and 6 of the last 10 Final series have had a Florida team (Tampa 4x, Florida 2x).

This was not surprising in the least.

As I've known for many years (and it's proving true) - no other Canadian team will win the Cup until the Leafs win it. Cheering for the Leafs is the same as cheering for your team.

Congrats to all 41 Florida Panthers players and coach Paul Maurice:

The 36 Canadians*, Swedes, Finns, Russians and Latvians (oh… and the 6 Americans) who brought the Stanley Cup back to the south-eastern USA. It’s another American(?) miracle on ice (a miracle they hung on).

*12 Canuck players and 1 head coach
