Neat. It looks like two towers on their north lot and a pedestrian bridge over 97a Ave to connect to their south lot.

I really wish one of these more major / interesting vision projects for Surrey would actually move forward.

Lots of construction going on, some larger projects, but none of the 200m+ towers or major core complexes ever seem to move forward.

It might just be a rendering of the lot the church sits on, it's 130k sq ft.

I don't know if they purchased 9666 King George Blvd but there a website that says they did. They have not announced anything regarding the purchase though. All we know is that they bought the church, announced they were looking for additional properties in the immediate vicinity, and then this lot was sold.

I guess you could do a property search, but I assume they aren't planning on moving forward with the southern lot for a while.

I could swear on BCAssessment 9666 KGB sold in march, but now it's showing in Oct. That means they bought it before announcing the church acquisiton which was in Nov.

Looks like their one property away from assembling all the lots needed for the nearby park, good to see.

I'm confused, the last parcel they need for the park is listed for sale at $7.5m for high density. Do they not realize it's zoned for a park?

Looks like Scotiabank is close to moving into Central City Mall (where Ricky's used to be). Maybe that means we'll see some movement on their current site before too long as they switch to their new location?

a development permit sign has gone up at the old KFC on KGH and 105A, it was briefly an African store that didn't last too long. They are applying to add a drive-thru to the existing building.

Does anyone know what might be opening there?

Just an observation but I was shocked at how good the Surrey skyline was looking from Hwy 1 near Brunette the other day. I don't even recognize it anymore.

It will change even faster from now on. Skyliving, Parkway 2, Juno, Parksville 96, the two Piano towers, Georgetown 3, two Bridgecity towers, The Manhatten, Janda tower, and the Marcon tower are all set to hit/have hit the market this gear. Emerald Gardens and the Civic District are two large projects that will hit the market in 2025.

Yup. Surrey has a nice skyline silhouette when viewed from north of the Fraser. It looks good from North Rd. in Burquitlam.

My uncle visited for the first time since before Covid and he was shocked at the changes in Central City in that time. He has declared the Tower Crane as the official bird of Surrey 😂

The change around King George is the one that blew his mind the most. The Hub, Century City Village across the street, none of that was there last time.

Planning report for two towers west of Bosa's Bristol Estate development. Same developer is also doing the two towers to the west of this new development. https://www.surrey.ca/sites/default/...-0232-00_0.pdf

The tenants recently rallied to stop the project.

Just build normal straight roads!

Bristol estates has been basically emptied out with just the odd apartment still occupied.

In a perfect world the lots between Pura and the new Sunshine co-op would also be bought by BC Housing as a replacement for the Mayflower co-op which needs to be demolished. Those few blocks are going to change dramatically with around 20 new buildings on the way.

Mayflower has 92 units, and the new Sunshine has 30 extra so we would need just 62, it could be easily done.

For bristol estates the curve in the road is to allow for the fifth tower while still meeting Surreys tower spacing guidelines.

Still seems like it could’ve been straight. Seems more likely they intentionally want it curved.
