The only thing that kind of bothered me is the cylindrical building protruding out into the sidewalk area, creating a dangerous choke point at the intersection. Imagine a car lane just being blocked like that (like say when there’s an accident or constructions where there’s orange cones to force cars to merge into another lane). It’s not very nice and with a bike lane there as well, why do they think that’s a good idea?

The footprint of the station building doesn't appear to have changed from the original plans, and the setback and bike lane is still there. The oval feature is a canopy roof that (if permitted) would partially cover the sidewalk and bike lane. You can see it illustrated better on the developer's website.

I believe it's just that the roof that hangs over the sidewalk.
