16C and sunny in Moncton at 8 AM, going up to 30C (humidex 35) this afternoon as the heat dome arrives.

The next three days will be 34C, 33C and 30C. Humidex readings will be in the 40s. I know central Canada will be even worse. Good luck everyone!!

TWN had three nights in a row at 27.for Leamington, but the forecast has been reduced by a couple degrees again. Not really a heatwave near the Lake Erie shore, these are typical summer temps. Overnight temps are generally in the 20s once the lake warms up, while highs are rarely above 32. It will still be mid 30s in the rest of the Windsor-Chatham-Sarnia area for the next few days.

My weather station records about 20-25 lows over 20 "officially". It's a fairly difficult threshold to reach because you basically need two nights in a row without thunderstorms. One overnight thunderstorm can reduce the low below 20 for a short time and affect the stats for two days. I need to find a way to comb the data and find out how often it's actually 20+ overnight.

Just posting this here from this morning on the Okanagan Connector (one of the mountain passes from Kelowna to Vancouver).

Yesterday was stormy with a high of 18c and a few thunder showers, gradually increasing to a high of 30c by the weekend. Finally!

Yesterday wasn’t too bad - high of 30 with a humidex of 38. Was quite windy at times which tempered the heat.

Today will be worse. We had a pretty violent thunderstorm this morning. It’s now already 25 with a humidex of 34 (85% rel humidity). EC has us reaching 32. I would expect a humidex reading above 40 today.

We hit our low of 21.8 at 8 am when the storm rolled through.

It will finally warm up a bit here this weekend to around 26 for Sat./Sun. An earlier forecast showed those warmer temps sticking around into next week but the latest update has us back down below 20 for the early part of the week and just getting over 20 for the latter part. sigh....

It snowed until 4am here in Canmore with some light accumulations in Town. The mountains are clouded/fogged in, but you can see glimpses of very significant snow at elevation.

Lots of rain and inconsistent coolish weather here in Winnipeg too.

No smoke, but we are choking on mosquitoes this year!

Wow!

At 5PM: Chapleau, ON skyrocketed to 36.4C. New high this year in Canada.

Also humidex of 45.2 there right now. First reading above 45 in at least 2 years across the country.

I would just not survive. We hit 21C official temp this week, and our building had to close because it was 26-30C inside (depending on individual office).

45? I'd literally just die. That's 15C above my personal wet bulb temp lol
