This one seems to be moving at a snail's pace. Maybe it's just two poor construction workers who have to build the entire building by themselves.

So at 307 feet, its exactly the same height as the UT Tower. Coincidence?

Will this new building shield our eyes (hopefully) from the horrors of the almost finished new student penitentiary aka Union on San Antonio?

Here's some of the Icon as of last night, they're at the third floor yippee...to be fair this one seems to have all underground parking which is probably where they spent all their time working on:

Some updates on the Icon...plus I finally learned how to make thumbnails:

I'm guessing those white things are where window frames will go?

Direct view from San Antonio side

Nearer shot

You can see it from Guad now!

Does anyone want to take bets on whether the crown lasts with that design?

I hope it is how the final product will look. I like the crown and it is something different than anything else in that area.

I still can't find an active, official website for the Icon, but based on the only link I've tried that goes somewhere this might be by the same folks behind Ion/Lark:

iconwestcampus.com redirects to the Ion's website. Scion (the student housing corp) does not have an Icon brand currently but it might be the first development under said label.

KXAN reports that this topped out on the September 4th. But their article claims that Icon is the tallest building in West Campus... oops! It's 5th.
