I notice they have Mucho Burrito's in Winnipeg now. In 5 years, there will probably be at least 6-8 of them, judging by Western Canada, and the expansion of the franchise.

True. I've been waiting on that for almost a year.
Since parking costs are high, I seldom go to The Forks OPH, which is rumored to be leaving for many reasons. Mostly The Forks Politics.
I on occasion go to McGillvary but Polo/former Clarion location is where I go most.
But now, Taylor is closest to me & many of my friends so likely that is where I will be going.

Opens in the next month or so in Toronto (first Canadian location). They plan to go national but not specific details on a Winnipeg location. I recall seeing that there is a loose connection to TNSE though so it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Winnipeg Shake Shack near the arena.

The owner of Oh Doughnuts just announced on the Downtown BIZ Instagram that they are renovating and expanding their Broadway location (which has been closed for over a year now), with additional seating and lunch options, and should be ready to reopen later this summer.

Especially good news after the recent demise of both Starbucks and The Fyxx on Broadway.

I know one of the major sign guys in the city and he has a great collection of these old signs. He said their company took a look at it, but it was just too large to keep. He was really disappointed, but.

Just found out that there was an online petition to save it that got about 70 or so signatures.

The petition was to request the owners move it to the McGillivary Blvd location

The exact closing timeframe is new but overall it was posted in the general thread last week as an apartment building will be replacing the site.

Not news, but went to the white star diner on kennedy downtown today. Owner was friendly, food was great. Didn't seem super busy so just recommending it here for those in the area and are looking for that type of fare. Feel we should support these types of business downtown.
