Wow. That's big.

It's probably reasonable that all 4 side will be done. It's not like they are just working on a small area on that one face to bring it in line.

Such a nice building too.

This is the first time I have seen a photo where you can really see the potential of this area. Love the contrast between historical and modern. Would love to see them get a couple of restaurants and retail spots to really make it feel like a neighbourhood.

The bridge is lit. Used to be a dark place.

Very nice area. Too bad it's taking so long for the life to follow, and feels a litttle stalled (first time without a crane in a while).

Still just one side of the cladding removed I see.

I noticed this long weekend that the backside of this building is now declad

While I don't clearly remember whether or not the backside had been done when I walked through Zibi on the weekend I saw pallets of cladding. Some but not all of the material had plastic wrapping on it. It all looked new otherwise. So presumably this is some or all of the materials to go on the backside for the first time.

Perhaps there was an issue with commissioning. Is there a level of 'Greenwashing-ness' this building is slated to receive?

If it wasn't able to hold pressure, extensive air leaks, the peel and unstick would need to be reviewed and replaced/upgraded. That's my theory.

Structurally hopefully it wasn't an issue, this is pretty run of the mill stuff.

Maybe they didn't like the colour?

Searching through Harley's bank if pics, it looks like they at least had the upper, right corner done in March. Might be as far as they got.

Although it doesn't look anything like the renderings, it still ended up looking quite good. I do hope they stick with that reddish colour.

This Pic from April 2024 shows no cladding on the back side

Harley from March 3, most cladding I've seen on that side.

The Musée Régional de l'Outaouais is now offering tours of the old E.B. Eddy Building on Laurier.

It's a little sad to see very little action in Zibi this summer after so much was happening there at this time last year. Wonder what the stall is about.

Dream LeBreton may be taking a lot of their resources.

Hope the next Ottawa tower starts this year, but we'll see.

Dream Lebreton had some great kickbacks that made it happen during what we might call 'the interest rate crisis' because of it's large affordable housing component.

I think we'll see very small interest rate cuts over the next couple of years that will slowly turn the tap back on for other developments that are in limbo.

Isn’t one of the residential buildings about to start occupancy?

I think both Aalto II and the Commons have already started welcoming new residents.

Pretty sure Aalto II is fully occupied now. Don't think anyone's living in the Commons yet.
