Aside from the city itself, the real pressure needs to be on Nassau County to get its act together and build, especially within a 2-3 mile radius of transit nodes. Not including Queens/Brooklyn, Long Island itself has been massively wasted potential and hasn't contributed much towards the overall region. You tend to see big resistance there.
