Gov Canada leaving a few floors of Grain Exchange building and going to City Place makes it even harder to sell.

With the parkades as part of these portfolios, I smell residential conversion. At least for the Bank of Hamilton Building.

grain exchange also has tenits u cant move out easly as its a major hub in national telcomications
aka its where everyone goes to conect to the fibers that cros canada

Did they change the design again for Market Lands or did global news accidentally use an old render from the design competition?

Definitely an improvement in the design if so.

CN closed the midway in the Transcona Shops to the public in 2004 after decades of north / south access. You can see the fencing with the no trespassing signs in Google Map view from May 2023

They used the wrong render. That was an early site plan render from Public City Architecture.

It all comes down to do the other Internet POP's in Winnipeg want to be in older locations or do they want to move to a new upgraded location?

Zayo spent the money to move their switch out of 200 Graham and Telus spent money to move into the old Symcor (formally Royal Bank processing center) on Fort St after Symcor moved into the old IBM site on Ellice Ave.

unfortnatly not as easy to move as u would think to do it would prolly be a 10yr project as theres so much intertiwned between everyone

its not simple as moving a couple switches it literal data centers and major national infrastructure and international coming up from the us terminates in there

NO gate, no sidewalk or even a warn path thru the bush from Dugald towards the Transcona Yards. Even the abandoned gravel surface parking lots on the North side of Dugald were removed and replaced with dirt fill and allowed to return to a natural state.

I don't disagree, its well known in the communications industry about the amount of copper and fiber in the Portage and Main area

Speaking of that North of Dugald patch of land by the malting plant, I always thought that'd be an amazing site for a heavy industrial factory. Product can roll off the line straight onto a siding from the mainline. In a pre globalization era, I bet that land would have been scooped up by someone. I would love love love to see more good manufacturing jobs in the city, we desperately need more good, private jobs.
