Having just returned from a long weekend trip to Seattle yesterday and using Link extensively between downtown, Capital Hill and the U District it is great that it has been built, but should serve as a text book example on how not to build LRT. There are so many examples of bad decisions it is not worth going into but has to be seen to be believed.
Comparing Skytrain to Link is likely unfair, but it is as if one has been designed for the modern world and another with getting a system built without thinking about how it will be used. Link will never come close to the ridership of Skytrain because of all its bad design, which is sad because Seattle really needs a good transit system.
