So they'd prefer an empty building generating nothing for them?

The Peck Building is owned by the Church of Scientology. There was a plan by them back in 2010 to renovate the entire building...obviously that didn't happen.

Probably to build torture chambers or a crash pad for Tom Cruise. Ugh.

A few years ago they reapplied for the “construction permits”.

I read somewhere if a building owner gets a construction permit it resets the clock on any abandoned building building fees.

Not sure if that is true or not but I guess if you slowly renovate its not abandoned.

As much as I want to see this building restored I'm not thrilled about it being operated by a cult

Meh, they have lots of money like any other church. If they can restore the building and make it sparkle I say it is good value for the money they soak people for.

Scientology's near-end is at end. It's heydey of the 90s is long since past. As it and its leader, David Miscaviage, are gradually being exposed for their various crimes like slave labour, child kidnapping, credit card theft, etc. this multilevel marketing scam will soon see its tax exemption taken away in US states along with the imprisonment of several of its leaders (hopefully including Miscaviage) all these buildings will eventually be sold off. Give it a few years.

Happy Spring skyscraper page MB/SK. Spring has sprung and with that should hopefully be some big announcements in the development world. With that in mind, does anyone have some spring dirt for us? You all know it's been dry lately, especially in regards to big announcements. I'm sure we'd love to discuss.

How many floors? And tell us about the pedestrian activity you think it'll generate. Any CRUs?

There’s some pretty good announcements coming. Five or six that I can think of.

I have heard a redesigned hotel at true North is actually progressing.

Forks Railside details are being shared at a chamber lunch tomorrow.

A redesigned hotel...minus the the residential tower?

If anyone is at that lunch tomorrow I'm sure we'd love an update haha.

Maybe a slightly shorter version of this?
