1477 W Broadway can be seen on the lower left. Taken from West Vancouver.

That Oakridge/1477 shot is indeed a fantastic pic. Very cool angle.

Did something blow off this building today? I was trying to go down Broadway and the police had it blocked off between Granville and Hemlock. It looked as though people were pointing up at something.

It was the protective netting- I could see it blowing off the side from my apartment

Thanks. I couldn’t see anything about in in the news and was puzzled. Glad it was fairly minor!

No pics, but I noticed today that the metal fins have began to go up the tower portion, although they're still wrapped up.

But it looks from the shape that they're the same cross-section profile as the ones that have already been mounted on the podium section.
So most of the white spandrel currently visible will be covered over by the brass-ey metal fins to match the look on the podium and it's already looking really good so far.

It's just a pity they scaled back on that corner column design from some of the initial concept designs, but all in all, it looks like it's coming together quite nicely.

They have removed the protective covering from many of the panels. Unfortunately while they are still the same shape, they are white.

No idea why they changed the colour for the tower but it's going to be a lot less unique of a look now.

This tower is going to look rough. Oof. What a miss for the first building along Broadway.

Geez, I wonder why they did that.

I would guess that maybe it might have had something to do with cost (?).
Maybe the metallic finish look to match the podium panels was ultimately more expensive and they opted for a more value-engineered painted panel.

But why white, though?
You could still get a paint colour that somewhat matches the tone of the podium which looks great..

Lost opportunity, indeed.

Seems to be gray on the upper levels in this rendering (the bottom also looks white/gray but not sure if that's a lighting reflection)

The third photo looks like an older render without the City Market branding.

Some more renders with white/grayish looking mullions on the PCI site as well

So I walked by this recently, and it seems like the cladding on the south face is different than that on the east face, from what I can tell. The cladding on the south face (and I assume it will be similar on the north face) is triangular although not as sharp a peak as the podium cladding, and a more muted bronze colour. The east face (and I assume west face) is a grey colour and is a flatter shape, and it looked like it wasn't really triangular in the same ways as the podium and south face.

Thanks for the recent pic.

Though it isn't the darker reddish brown that was promised, the muted beige panels still add some element of warmth and may stand the test of time better (compared to something trendier). I'm just glad it's not completely white.

Is the cutout at the top of this building because of a view cone restriction?
