Santa Clarita town center plan to transform Valencia Town center into a mixed use development
"The TCSP appears to be a compromise of sorts that the city is referring to as “placemaking,” which will include about 2,550 housing units in the 111-acre planning area, and 630,000 square feet of commercial space."

This is a pretty big step in the direction of getting an urbanized downtown for SCV. The buildings will still be max 7 stories but one has to think that eventually the actual mall itself will be redeveloped with a higher density mixed use zone of 8-15 story buildings.
Also will add that hopefully we will eventually see the lake developed in the Santa Clara river with a mixed use district along the bank.
