Some nice curtain-wall glass going in (rare for most condos)… maybe their collaboration with music artist Pharrell leaked into the exterior? I'm "Happy".

Parkside Village, Mississauga
It's been a while since I posted about these towers going up in Mississauga. There's 4 towers underway in just this masterplan, and 5 cranes in total. It's great to finally see this site get closer to completion. I took these yesterday.

The phase in front is called Voya, with a 42 and 36 floor tower to be on site, and the much further along phase behind it is called Avia, and will have a 38 floor tower matched with a 50 floor tower.

2 very big (and very nice) mid-rises… one west of the core and the other to the east:

KING Toronto | 57.6m | 16s | Westbank | Bjarke Ingels Group l u/c

A project of this size could have been a nasty blockbuster on the small but vibrant streetscape of King West, but the large heritage retention components along King St. and the internal piazza-ish POPs that opens to the street, goes a long way to help this fit in despite its size.

I found this interesting… a comparison of the normal flow of the river... with a major flood event. Really shows all that flood protection planning and execution at work.

Normal river flow:

Major flood:

Yeah I agree, the neo-britalist choice was a good one, especially given it's prominent location the seen from Saint-jacques street. I imagine a glass tower wouldn't have had quite a positive effect here.

New renderings for Press Block in Halifax. It is under construction and up to the 4th floor or so.
