I believe I posted on one of threads that it was a non-retail use. Some sort of corporate training business.

The Body Shop has filed for creditor protection. There are still locations in Cornwall and Southland.

Regina's stores were not on the first list of 33 stores to close. The online store is being shut down as well.

When I read the list of store closures, I thought it was so odd that all locations in Saskatchewan are closing, except Southland Mall in Regina. I was thinking could it be that it's just off the #1 and still easily supplied? I just can't see that location in Southland doing the same numbers as Cornwall.

As the Premier shopping destination in Regina, the rent at Cornwall Centre is high. This may be why they are keeping the Southland store open. It might also be the busier of the two locations?
To be honest, I think it is going to be a struggle for Body Shop Canada to remain in business for reasons stated in the CBC story linked below. But hey, I could be wrong

So it was Jysk that bought the former Sears Home on Quance. Another big hole at Vic Square.

Aeropostale is now Bluenotes. The Source will become Best Buy Express.
Body Shop, and Freshii closed at the end of March.

I read that they are closing about half of The Source stores, other half converting to Best Buy Express. So I assume Cornwall stays, but 1 or more of the other locations in the city are closed.

As of April 20th, the Hudson's Bay store is still closed due to smoke and water damage. The mall entrances are covered in paper, but say they will be re-opening soon. It wouldn't surprise me if they were evaluating whether to stay open or not.
SoftMoc, and Hillberg & Berk's new stores are now open, and both look a lot better than what they had previously. Big crowd all day lined up to get into H&B.

I have been told by a trusted source in the Cornwall Centre that Hudson's Bay has given one-year notice that they will be closing this store. Not much of a surprise to mall regulars, as the store never has many customers. The most commonly heard complaint is about The Bay's high prices.

Also, KICKZ has closed permanently. (Retailer of expensive shoes/street wear).

Another thing to note is The Bay pays extremely low rent based on the historical notion that they were an anchor tenant. I doubt very much that the Bay is much of a draw any longer. Hopefully they can find some better uses for the space.

So does this mean that there won't be any Bay shops left in Regina? Will there be any left in Saskatchewan after this one goes?

If true, a good thing would be that they can finally gut the HBC CRU space and remove all aspestos etc. from that side of the mall (once new tenants are found to move in).

Hudson's Bay has officially announced it is closing its Cornwall Centre store effective April 2025. Saskatoon to remain open.
