Nice, thank you Tim!

Southern Research is beginning to make itself known as seen from the Expressway.

The rehab hospital (RIP Spain) is a lot taller than I expected it to be! Looking forward to seeing that top out!

The Spain replacement facility has topped out, 11 floors. The old Spain building is scheduled to be torn down and a 200 car parking deck to replace it.
Also some time in June this year, there will be a groundbreaking for a 6 story 165,000 SF Biomedical Research and Psychology building on University BLVD across from the Rec center. The western end of UAB campus will have a few nice new buildings giving it a whole new look.

Alabama Power is pulling out of the Powell Steam plant project. I was bummed at first when I read this, but really, they've been going nowhere fast. Hopefully someone will buy it up that can actually do something with it.

Heaviest Corner on Earth to be getting heavier.

New "Tempo" by Hilton to be built in the parking lot next to the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Project is still in the design phase, but will have ~180 rooms. For reference, the Elyton Hotel has 111, the Fairfield has 120, and the Brown-Marx will have 337.

You never disappoint, Tim! Great updates. Lots of good construction; it'll be interesting to see how the area around the amphitheater develops.

Good news. Each county in the Birmingham MSA saw an increase in population. Small gains, but better than the bleeding we've seen in the past.
