Dieppe set new construction record of $182M in 2023
Dieppe's building boom created 926 housing units in 2023, an increase of 208 units or 29 per cent over the previous year

The previous record had been $119.4M in 2022. So, they blew the record out of the water this year.
The article included a list of the major building permits issued in 2023:
• 250 Acadie Avenue: $18 million building permit for a new 126-unit apartment building, which is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2024.
• 530-570 Dieppe Boulevard: $15-million building permit for a new Atlantic Superstore and strip mall at 530-570 Dieppe Boulevard, which includes a new Shoppers Drug Mart.
• 250 Lorette St.: $9 million building permit for a 67-unit apartment building.
• 75 Melanie St.: $8.7 million permit for a 48-unit apartment building.
• 339 Champlain St.: $8.5 million for a six-storey building with commercial space on ground floor and 48 housing units on the upper floors, with underground parking.
• 100 Sorbonne St.: $7.5 million permit for a four-storey, 71-unit apartment building with underground parking.
• 544 Gauvin Road: $7.5 million permit for a four-storey, 39-unit apartment building with underground parking.
• 1542 Champlain St.: $7.2 million permit for a four-storey, 52-unit apartment building.
• 1400 Hartnett St.: $6 million permit to Eddy Group for showrooms, office and warehouse.
• 1205 Aviation Ave.: $4.5 million permit to Emco for industrial building, office, warehouse.
• 1085 Aviation Ave.: $3.3 million permit for CE3 Electronics warehouse.
• 1350 Aviation Ave.: $3.4 million permit for Black & McDonald office and warehouse.
• 665 Champlain St.: $2.4 million permit for new health clinic.
• 50 Rufin St.: $2 million permit for new strip mall (Global Pet Foods).
• 279 Lafayette St.: $2 million permit for $16 unit apartment building.
It should be noted that the top item valued at $18M corresponds to the address of
Promenade Neuf Phase Two. Plans for this lot may have changed, but, construction is anticipated for spring of 2024, and, this should be a major project.
