Was it the construction that hurt, or the removal of parking?

Also, City is coming out with a model of the city and looks like proposed projects will be included. Would be awesome if it was made available to the public:

https://pub-ottawa.escribemeetings.com/filestream.ashx?DocumentId=164217
This will be awesome. Should be included on all DevApps and have an overall DevApps map with all proposals. Basically what Harley's doing

I doubt that any individual business issues on Beechwood had anything to do with the bike lanes. It's long been a mixture of established businesses and frequent-turnover properties.

Similar story on Montreal, compounded by the several years of construction disruption, but not the fault of the bike lanes themselves. What really needs to happen on Montreal is a concerted effort by the public and private sectors to replace about seven or eight particularly derelict properties that have no useful life left in them.

Has anyone applied for the CIP other than Mark Motors?

After the last kerfuffle, do you think they would actually tell us?

It's almost as if the CIP was tailor made for Marks.

From Leiper's News Letter. To look out for at the Planning Committee:

Quote:
We'll also - and this is fun - get a presentation on the "3D Digital Twin" project. Interested councillors have had a preview of the new tool that maps the city with considerably more sophistication then ever before with lots of modeling opportunities.
So I think this will be the 3D map with all the proposals. Very similar to Harley613's work on SSP with the future skylines, I suspect.

Looks like they want to get some more mid-rises/mixed use along Allumettières.

Didn't I read somewhere that all high density development is on hold in Aylmer until the transportation system is improved?

Maybe that was actually a dream...

Why limit to 15 floors? Gatineau has such a problem with height. In Hull near the MC Bridge, Maisonneuve, Allumettières, Maloney. Should all be open season for high-rises.

Nope. You didn't dream that.

Hard to find the latest news, but here's from May:

I do remember this passing.

Between des Grives and St. Raymond is technically Hull

I know quite a while ago they mowed all the bushes around the Grives and Allumettières intersection and left all the big trees (in behind star cité). I thought something was going to happen there soon.

Does anyone know what the proposal is for NW Bank and Walkley corner? There is a presentation on the 28th apparently.

Did a little digging can’t find anything anywhere. Might be a new proposal being shown for the first time at that presentation. Anything to replace that old strip mall lol

NW corner is a Chevy dealership. Are we talking about the strip mall on the NE corner?

It is the Value Village Plaza on the NW corner. Here's a link for the meeting next week: https://www.shawnmenard.ca/public_consultation_bank_walkley

(Harley, I think you're thinking of Bank / Alta Visa).

OMG REALLY? I've been dreaming of this lot to be redeveloped for years! It is huge, at a major intersection, lots of services nearby (grocery, shoppers, lcbo/beer store, food, etc) and serviced by both bus routes and soon to be Line 2.

Excited to see the proposal. Hoping for a dense project, variety in height & style, etc.
