This past Friday afternoon, TBM Phyllis launched from South Granville Station! She is now on the final leg of her journey to Cypress St, where she will be dismantled and removed.

That should mean Elsie will arrive at Hemlock this week. Phyllis's arrival at Cypress should be around March 20th.

That’s makes it an average of 14m/day for that leg.

Once Elsie starts the final leg (3 to 4 weeks), it is a race to the finish.

From the project twitter.

At Arbutus Staion waiting for the TBMs to arrive.

2 steel rings, called "shuttering rings," are installed in the east wall of the future Arbutus Station.
As crews pour the concrete wall at this end of the station, the rings provide support.
They will also protect the wall when the tunnel boring machines break through.

"Since this photo was taken in November, concrete has been poured here to create a slanted floor.

This is where underground stairs and escalators will connect the Canada Line to the Millennium Line at Broadway-City Hall Station."

Also, re previous post, did they use those rings on the other stations, I don't remember them, but I may have just missed them.

Yes they were previously used at Granville. Arrivals at the other stations were before the station box walls were poured so the shuttering rings weren't needed.

From the Broadway Project Facebook

Quote:
These rings are installed in completed station walls where TBMs will break through and launch.

The rings will be permanent part of stations where east or west walls are completed prior to TBM arrival. The spokes in the middle provide temporary support while walls are built, but are removed before TBM breakthroughs.

Shuttering rings are required at Broadway-City Hall, South Granville, and Arbutus Stations.

The rings protected the completed station walls when TBM Phyllis broke through at South Granville on December 20.

Holy tunnel accuracy, gotta be right on the money to hit center of the ring and at exactly the right angle. Impressive.

Cool.
Weird that there's that much of a dip at Broadway City Hall Station, but could be to go under Canada Line, then rising back up for the remainder of the stations.

Why does it take 4 months for the Ministry to upload these photos to Flickr? Photo taken in late November, but only uploaded last week.

Maybe there's a clause about publishing photos publicly for security purposes ?

Probably requires the approval of various people who have other priorities. This is the case for any large organization concerned with its' public image. Add in the fact that the government isn't exactly known for bureaucratic efficiency and...
