This is how developers should screen their parking decks.

With 3 or 4 more levels of height I fee like this building would be a lot more attractive. It's basically a big square, as wide as it is tall, and that makes the crown feature look sort of off.

Still, better than the old outparcel restaurants that were there before.

Casa Grande was THE place to be on Friday nights back in the late 90s.

Indeed. I wish I had a picture of the huge curved magazine room in the Pharr Rd building. I don't think anyone under 30 would believe how many magazines used to exist

Buckhead Village Site That Could Yield 20-Story Tower Up For Sale

https://www.bisnow.com/atlanta/news/land/buckhead-nightclub-parcel-up-for-sale-125389
Quote:
Foundry Commercial is marketing 3171 Peachtree Road, a 21K SF retail property, offering it to developers as the site of a future mixed-use high-rise.

Three restaurant spaces occupy the building at the nearly 1-acre site, including local watering hole Moondogs and nightclub Red Martini. The third space, formerly a Hole in the Wall bar, is vacant.

“We’ve got offers on the table,” Lindenbaum said. “We’re fielding other offers in the market.”

Atlanta Opera $45-million Performing Arts Center

https://www.buckhead.com/bobby-jones-golf-clubhouse-to-become-an-arts-center-and-recital-hall/
Quote:
The Atlanta Opera will transform the historic Bobby Jones Clubhouse, located on Woodward Way on the Atlanta Beltline, into a home for opera and the performing arts in a community-forward, multi-disciplinary arts center. The Opera’s newly unveiled plan will create a nature-inspired recital hall, immersive theatre venue and education spaces, as well as administrative and rehearsal areas for the Opera.

The recital and theatrical spaces will support a variety of performances and community engagement focusing on the arts, including recitals, jazz, cabarets, immersive chamber operas and more. Located on the Atlanta Beltline, the building and surrounding park will link the opera to the community and create a welcoming place for the arts.

Kolter Urban plans next condo tower by St. Regis

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news/2024/10/17/kolter-urban-condo-tower.html
Quote:
The most active luxury condo developer in Atlanta is pursuing a prestigious Buckhead address for its next tower — right beside a five-star hotel.

Florida-based residential firm Kolter Urban is pitching a nearly 200-unit condo building by the St. Regis Atlanta hotel. It's proposed for 102 West Paces Ferry Road, a more than 3-acre site currently used for a shopping center and parking lot.

This week, plans were submitted in Atlanta for the 19-story project. It would have 198 condos with a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio LLC is the architect listed on the plans.

I don't know why but I absolutely hate this plan. Not sure if it's the architecture that I dislike, or the change to the neighborhood that I don't like. But this one doesn't sit well with me. Not that I'd oppose it at a meeting and be a NIMBY, but still

I personally think it looks pretty nice, but i do wish it was in a more accessible area. Somewhere along the mainline beltline, not a secluded neighborhood spur trail. But yeah, I'm sure this is happening here because of donors, so whatever. The opera is a once every 10-20 thing years for me, im not their main demo.

New Condo Tower Could Soon Rise Next To The St Regis

https://www.buckhead.com/new-condo-tower...-st-regis-hotel-in-the-buckhead-village/
Quote:
The 102 West Paces Ferry Road site is Kolter’s most exclusive location yet. The positioning across from Whole Foods and adjacent to the St Regis Hotel and condos will likely appeal to those downsizing from single-family homes in the adjacent neighborhoods.

The redevelopment of the largely vacant strip mall at 102 West Paces Ferry Road will complete long-delayed “Phase III” of the 1984 master plan that has resulted in the St. Regis, the 92 West Paces Ferry apartment tower, and the Buckhead Plaza tower complex at West Paces Ferry and Peachtree Road.

This latest plan for the site replaces a more ambitious 2022 plan by Atlanta developers Kent Levenson and George and Ned Burkow. That plan was very well received by the community, but their proposed hotel, apartment, and office tower never got off the ground.

"Trump appointed Bill White, former CEO of Buckhead City Committee, U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, he announced Dec. 15. Buckhead City Committee was the organization that pushed for the upscale district to secede from the city of Atlanta from 2021 to 2023."

Hopefully this will keep him busy enough to stay away from Atlanta/Buckhead
