The application states a "variety of housing types", including SFH, but, looking at the subdivision plan, all I see is duplexes and townhomes.

This proposal for Salisbury Road was approved at the city council meeting last night, with the condition a fence be erected and some shrubbery added to shield existing residents eyes...........

I get that when it's commercial or MUR, but for townhouses? In a subdivision designed to eventually connect with its neighbours via Pedum and Acacia? That's excessive.

Interesting proposal for a new townhome development on Ryan Street:

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that the City Council of the City of Moncton is considering amending the Zoning By-Law Z-222.

The purpose of the proposed amendment, being By-law Z-222.26, Schedule A-26, is to rezone a portion of 356 Ryan Street from R2 (Two Unit Dwelling) to RM (Residential Mix).

The proposed amendment would accommodate the construction of four rowhouse dwellings. Each rowhouse will contain six residential units (24 units total on site).

Anyone have any idea why the Apartment complex on Mountain Rd next to Quality Inn is on hold? It's been dormant since before Christmas for sure.

Welcome to the forums.

I had not noticed (but haven't driven out that way recently). It probably means nothing. It could be due to labour or supply shortages, poor scheduling of subcontractors or simply the weather. We'll see.......

There is a small generic four storey apartment building going up on Mapleton by the car wash. Is this what you mean?

I see there is another large lot being excavated on DesBrisay Ave. in the MID West Industrial Park. Phase One is filling up quickly. I think work on phase two is starting this year. The timing seems perfect.

Yeah it’s too bad the city spent money to set up a traffic light it may never actually use.

The new ANBL agency liquor store at the Magnetic Hill Irving is now open. It's actually pretty large. As an agency store, I imagine it will have generous operating hours. And, given it's proximity to the city, this should be a popular location for that reason.

This is being discussed at Moncton city council this evening.

7.5 Public Hearing – Rezoning at 356 Ryan Street (objections received)

Apparently there are NIMBY objectors. I hope the developer is able to proceed. This is not a bad looking townhome development, and, deserves to see the light of day.

Weird one for anyone to complain about. I get the issues people have with apartment buildings popping up in their backyard, but what's a few townhouses?

Agreed.

Not overly massive or high density, only 6 units per row and decent set backs. Reasonably attractive design with driveways and garages....I don't see how the neighbours have a lot to be upset about.

If it was 3 or 4 ugly four story boxes of apartments with a bunch of surface parking lots I could see their point but this..............
