There really isn't until traffic volumes get huge.
Clovers with collectors are the best bang for buck because they only require 1 bridge. Their capacity exceeds diamonds, diverging diamonds, parclos.
Only direct free-flowing interchanges like 4-level stacks, pinavia's or turbines have higher capacity. Stacks are 4-levels of mega bridges, so mega money.
Turbines can be more cost effective since they only require 5-9 bridges (pending design), and make better use of terraforming. But again, 400-800% more bridges for only 50% more capacity than clover. Bang for buck.
Clovers in the prairies work. We're small and light and have space. For busy Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, NYC, LA, etc, yes, 4-level stacks every 5-10 miles. Phoenix has one of the best road designs in USA IMO. It's all Stacks, Diamonds and SPUI's. Excellent flow.
