Well yeah, I know that it's not possible in those cities, just putting in perspective what a wacky temperature swing that is

The howling winds are subsiding. Walked a few blocks to the post office and the wind was in my face the entire way there. Tears just streaming. With the wind at my back on the walk home, though, it was lovely as far as a winter day goes.

The marijuana "plant" east of Gatineau in Masson-Angers (across the river from Cumberland east of Ottawa) has this hue as well, which you can see from Ottawa's eastern suburbs sometimes.

You also see that hue on the western side of Autoroute 15 in Mirabel just north of Montreal. It's from the Savoura greenhouse complex.

I'm now glad that we got outbid on a couple houses in Kingsville when we moved. And there's a moratorium on new greenhouses where I live now.

Cold (-10) and overcast. The sun peaked out for a couple moments. We haven't had cold, sunny arctic high pressure this winter, unfortunately.

-13C with a wind chill of -19 and sunny. It is our coldest day this winter and it could be the coldest this year.

Low of -16C (wind chill of -23) this morning. First sub -15C temperature for Montreal.

The warmspot was Solander Island, BC at 8.8C. Those warmspot places are very tricky in winter as they come with 100 km/h gusts like today. 95 km/h sustained winds.

The warmest low was Solander Island, BC at 7.3C. Once again, completely due to the insane winds.

It was either gluten or the weather that gave me a carbon copy migraine with aura two days in a row. Overcast, cold, isolated flurries.

Interesting YouTube video showing the tidal bore roaring upstream in Moncton just the other day:

Video Link

It got up to -5.5C in Moncton today, mostly overcast with continual very light snow and no accumulation. It was a little blustery.

Interesting phenomenon. Would be scary if that was on a larger scale.

I went swimming in a creek or river outside Sedona, AZ that's a tributary of the Verde River one October. Water was pretty damn cold being up at elevation and all. Anyway, couple years later 9 people die in a flash flood in the Verde River about an hour and a half south of where I was. IIRC correctly, weather wasn't bad where they were, but it was storming somewhere upstream which caused a flash flood that eventually reached them.

Even seeing that low volume in the video it would make me slightly uneasy if I were standing in it.

Was up in Brampton today. Snowbanks on everyone's driveways. Remants of snow here and there on residential streets. At home no snowbanks this winter so far. Lawns are white but grass can also be seen. Doesn't take much. Only like 10 kms north and the snow is noticeably more. I hope the rest of winter doesn't try and make up for the tame winter up till now.

-11C with a wind chill of -19 and cloudy. Some snow as well. We are definately feeling the effect of the brutal cold from the Western Canada.

Low of -17C (wind chill of -26) last night. Could be our coldest temperature this year.

The warmspot was Solander Island, BC at 10.5C.

The warmest low was Solander Island, BC at 8.0C.

Chilly but fine. Morning walk to the grocery.

Sobeys on the horizon. My old place is on the other side of the block on the left. I really only moved a few hundred metres but straight downhill and across...

...this intersection, which formed kind of a mental divide for me between my house in Rabbittown and the downtown core, and I definitely wanted to be in the latter. Needed to see the harbour from the window, only be a short climb uphill from Water Street, etc.

Edit: It's a beautiful day!

Edit: Best of the day is done now. I managed to dry three loads of laundry!
