The land in question is on the NW corner of the Albert St/Assumption Blvd intersection, immediately adjacent to the new Codiac RCMP headquarters, and very close to Vaughan Harvey Blvd.
I checked the PAOL website, and there was a recent property sale in this location (PAN 01872086, 209 ALBERT ST) on December 21, 2023 for $330,000. I don't know who the purchaser of the lot was, but, perhaps

The original source is very reputable, and, the recent property sale would seem to be at least partially confirmatory of the rumour, therefore I have a strong suspicion that something is afoot. Of course, we have no idea how far along the proponent is in the planning process. Development may still be several years away.
This is a prominent location. I suspect this will be a substantial structure, probably mid-high rise, and most likely 6-10 storey minimum. We will have to keep an eye on this.
