Saint John's share of the Housing Accelerator fund I would expect. It will be interesting to see the dollar amount......and how it compares to Moncton's recent announcements.

that’s good, but I find it irritating to have an announcement for something that was already announced twice before. The font and excitement of his post suggested it was going to be the accelerator fund

All governments (and especially this one) are famous for that. Repeatedly announcing the same spending.....and sometimes it's spending planned for several years in the future when they may well no longer be in power.

November, that's a quick build. I walk or drive past it every weekday and I don't think there's been much activity in the last three weeks.

Well they don't call it the Rapid Housing Initiative for nothing.

Nice to see St. Pat's moving along so quickly! I love the idea of adding the townhouses along Lancaster Street, but I was hoping they'd build out to the intersection of St. John St. because I never liked the way the intersection feels huge and misaligned, having a building up to the corner would have helped the area visually IMO.

Either way, here's hoping the construction starts soon!

Announcements this morning of the Imperial Theater getting some federal and provincial funding.

Also MP Wayne Long mentions another "very, very, meaningful announcement of more federal support for Saint John" next week.

Man, they're never gonna connect the Bentley/Chesley to Reversing Falls stretch, are they?

Seems like Ocean Steel and the OSCO office building are firmly in the way.

Ocean Steel would have to give up some property unless maybe it’s a raised boardwalk on the rocks. Thoughts ?

Another announcement coming tomorrow according to MP Wayne Long. He said:

Quote:
“We’ve been on quite a roll with announcements eh!
Just wait until tomorrow. This one will help address the serious issues we are facing. It’s significant.”
Update: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be in the city to make a housing announcement: https://www.pm.gc.ca/en/news/itineraries...X-eQffJIdXCv5zGJOcoiBSV0vUUfvTspB3cs8xPM
