Currently +2C and partly cloudy in Moncton. It's a little breezy, but otherwise pleasant.

The storm yesterday was a nothingburger for us. I small amount of snow and ice pellets to begin, with a quick transition to rain. Accumulation was 1-2 cm at most, and this has melted. Aside from some icing, we are back to status quo again.

Windy and was some light snow earlier.

More snow north of Cobourg.

Could've hung out here all day

Clear skies over Toronto tonight: I could see the skyline from Bloomington Road as I came back from an impulsive tour of Port Perry, Seagrave, Little Britain, Oakwood, Cannington is a lovely red brick town, Manilla has no Filipinos!?, Sunderland is another nice village, Sandford and before getting on the 404, I finally checked out Musselman's Lake. Glorious sunshine and sunset, North of Port Perry it was wonderful to be driving in "trackbare to wet," "blowing snow." (30 year's ago we'd call the MoT 1800 number for road conditions in the middle of nowhere Ontario - anyone remember?)
Anyway, it's currently 21F/-6C on my balcony.

Lake Scugog omg freaking windy & cold

I stopped by The Trading Post north of PP - wow very nice selection of seafood meats etc
Little Britain reminds me of those isolated villages in the est Eastern Townships towards QC or in Northern Ontario. If you can eat gluten, check out the buttertarts here.

So nice to be back in hill country away from gridlock, stop lights and ugly architecture

Cold and windy, dropped to -15 by 9am this morning, up to around -12 this afternoon and now holding at -15 again. It might hold around -15 at my place if the wind stays strong and keeps coming from the SW over the lake, but if it calms down and becomes more westerly, we'll be flirting with -20.

There was a pretty significant seiche in Lake Erie today and Saturday. Someday I'd like to see what that looks like, but it's not exactly a great day for a walk on the beach. The beach I normally go to is extremely dangerous under these conditions. I bet the shoreline will be changed next time I go down there

I drove up to visit family this afternoon and there was mist over the St. Clair River. These crappy pics don't do it justice, but it looked neat

I dropped into Holy Rosary Cathedral this morning in Vancouver. Their heating system died overnight and it was so cold in the church this morning I could see my breath. Some people were wearing toques.

Hopefully the heating will rise from the dead in less than three days.

-2C with a wind chill of -9 and a mix of sun and snowsqualls. The squalls between the sunshine were quite intense so it did accumulate a little bit. It would have been a decent day if not for the wind.

Low of -4C (wind chill of -13) this morning.

The warmspot was Debert, NS at 8.1C.

Another sunny, dry and cold day. Not as cold as the previous two, though.

Sunday's high at Vancouver Harbour was -1 C, the low was -6 C.

Current warm spot in the country is 4.4… in Nunavut!

Don’t think I have ever seen them as a warm spot before.

An early morning for me in Bloor West Village: sunny and very cold: 7F/-13C. No wonder the bike lanes were so busy!

Calm and sunny this morning. The low was -17.4. It's currently -12 and might not get much higher than that again today.

We dropped down to -18.5C according to the hourly readings, and -12C is the forecasted high for today as well.

Iqaluit and Nuuk Greenland were both above 0 and raining. all me years up there I never saw those temps in the winter.

-33 in Yeg today. Been in the phone off and on all weekend with sites that were having freezing issues and friends that had frozen pipes or their furnaces were failing. Furnaces were usually a quick fix. Go knock the condensation off the combustion air and exhaust lines. The frozen pipes were having to wait for a Plumber (72 hours for some).

And the cold weather allowed me to finally get my kitchen renos done. High of -20 today and then a slow warm up all week. sunday is supposed to be -8.

Quite chilly this morning, dropped to -14 overnight in Toronto. Won't get much warmer during the day; currently -10 and EC has us reaching a high of -8. It's quite sunny and less windy than yesterday, so it's actually quite pleasant.

What's interesting is how much talk there has been about this cold snap, but this morning may have been the coldest temperature we will reach throughout the whole thing, and it's only about 4 degrees below normal for this time of year.

Goes to show how mild winter has been up until this point.

Light wind and 9 degrees this afternoon, so not too bad outside. I took a few shots along the lakeshore. The water is still open, the beach is covered in ice. There were some very dark clouds out over the lake.

My passion flower vine was still green and lush until Saturday. The wind ripped it away from the twine it was attached to and it's probably going to die back to the ground now. It will grow back easily, but it would be interesting to see it survive the whole winter.

Blowing a gale all day ("One time the wind stopped blowing in Newfoundland and everybody fell over."). But sunny!
