The large street trees? It looks like there were four and two were removed in 2023 during sewer work, all were alive the previous year.

I don't think the tree removals are related to the Gilmore Place development or ground settlement, they also removed the trees from the southwest corner by the pump station.

No, the ones removed within the last few years weren't for Gilmore Place. I think the two removed last year were due to the sewer work. Intersection reconstruction would explain the ones recently removed, one had died in 2022, not sure if any others died last year.

Yeah the stairs are nice I guess, lots of light from the windows and no wind blowing through the metal mesh anymore.

Is this a big issue in Brentwood?

That's why all the underground is metered I assume but I'm not sure how you catch people parking on streets getting on the Skytrain.

Shame about the wind and rain everyone will experience between the top of the stairs and the faregates, since they didn't bother extending a roof covering

The resident or business owner notices a car which is repeatedly in front of their property and reports it.

A similar bylaw existed in Vancouver until very recently. It's a general bylaw, not really to do with SkyTrain.

It still exists in Vancouver.
Yes, it’s an issue in Brentwood, but no for Skytrain commuters, rather for construction workers.

I was under the impression that they changed that part of the bylaw in November, but looking at the city website that appears not to be the case.

They only changed the approach, which is the same now what Burnaby does. Before in COV you could only park in from your own house. Now - you can park in front of any house of the 100 block that you live on.

That's because the proliferation of multi-unit houses and their spawn of cars parking on the street is making it harder and harder to find space close to your house, let alone in front of it, to park. I'm just glad I have a garage.

Ask and sometimes ye might receive. Honestly, I didn't take any yesterday because it actually doesn't seem done yet.

The wall beside the elevator in dry wall with a small home style window looks completely out of place and confusing.

I assume that's just for weather protection while installing the elevator, specifically the electrical control system, and will removed in time.

Yeah but why did they need full sliding windows for a 2 metre covering? Were they worried there wasn't enough airflow? I wonder if they had some leftover walls from some other project and they just reused them.

I'd have to dig but it's no different from the Main Street reno where they didn't yet have the correct light fixture for the platform elevator door. It looked like someone drove over to The Home Depot, bought a fluorescent lamp and slapped that on until the proper one arrived.

Seems like they are waiting for glass panels and they temporarily stuck those in there?
