It’s not even the color of the building, it’s the insulation wrap that is blue. Wait until the building is finished and it’s a dull off white/grey color.

Does anyone know what is being built on Melanson just west of Dieppe Blvd. The area is being cleared since last week. Deer used to roam through this area. It appears that it is zoned for CM (Commercial Mixed). Any idea?

Dieppe unfortunately is much more secretive regarding development news than Moncton or even Riverview. I know where you mean. I saw some digging in there today as I was driving north on Dieppe Blvd. I would be surprised if it were commercial, but we’ll see

^^ The area that they've cleared doesn't look very big. Maybe enough for a house and garage. Can't see it being large enough for an apartment building either. But if it is commercially zoned maybe it could be a clinic of some sort or daycare as there are 2 schools nearby. Of course I am just speculating without anything to go on.

This building at 665 Champlain Street has been undergoing a near fork-lift upgrade and expansion all year. I have not reported on it because like most things in secretive Dieppe, I had no idea what they were doing.

Apparently Vitalite is building a new Geriatric Health Centre in this location.

“This ambulatory clinic, scheduled to open in the spring of 2024, is the first one of its kind for the organization,” said France LeBreton, Director of Eldercare Services. “We had identified the need to coordinate access to a range of services offered by a team dedicated exclusively to senior patients, she explained. Patients will find in a single location a range of care and services necessary to maintain their autonomy and quality of life at home.”

The 8,000-square-foot building will house several assessment rooms as well as rehabilitation rooms and group training rooms adapted to the clinic’s patients.

The Geriatric Health team will include physicians, nurses, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a speech-language pathologist and a social worker. The clinic will also have access to any other services offered by the Network to meet the needs of its patients.

The chairman of the Anglophone East School board has confirmed that one of the schools recently greenlit by the Higgs government will be a new anglophone K-12 school for Dieppe.

Now begins the arduous process of identifying a location, land acquisition, design and construction. The new school will not be ready for occupancy until 2028/29.

The old Irving at the Northwest corner of Acadie and Champlain is being torn down today. Does anybody have any information? This is such a prime spot for a major development.

Speculation on roadway improvements at that busy intersection, possibly a roundabout. Nothing official.

I suspect that, like just about every other project across the marsh, is being kept under wraps by the DGSID (Direction Générale de la Sécurité Intérieure de Dieppe).

Indeed. A highly secretive organization. They could tell you what the plans are, but, then they would have to shoot you.

I would say no. I don’t think they will be any more transparent than they currently are. Roundabouts seem to carry the same weight as a 10+ story building.. they seem to really upset a small but vocal segment of the population and I’m sure the city was getting calls and emails constantly about it.

Some signs of life at what was once supposed to be Promenade 9 phase 2 on Acadie, workers and machinery on site. As far as I know nothing much has happened there for at least a year, despite the large crane on the property.

Not sure if it was mentioned here, but according to SNB that lot changed hands in March of this year.

No, I was not aware of this. This may mean that Quest is no longer involved, and that plans have been changed. This may not be Promenade Neuf Phase Two" any more.

$42M to extend Dieppe Boulevard
