That intersection (Queensway/Northwood/Mapleton) needs to be aligned.

The off-ramp from the TCH westbound onto Mapleton needs some love soon. Traffic backs up the whole length of the ramp at rush hour most days now with people waiting to turn left.

Actually I think a roundabout there would be fine. Not sure if a second one on the south side would also be necessary though.

I think a roundabout would work quite well here too. It would allow for continuous traffic flow. I think to avoid cognitive dissonance however, the southside off ramp would also have to become a roundabout too.

Off topic, but did you notice all of the Nova Scotia plates in town lately, I know that some must be starting Christmas shopping, but I have never seen this amount before. Even in areas where there is no shopping at all, I am seeing more than Ontario plates lately. I wonder if Nova Scotia is bleeding some people or even new comers to the Moncton area? I'm also wondering if there are more people living in Amherst and travelling to Moncton to work. Seems to be too much just for Christmas shopping.

I've always been impressed with the number of out of province plates around here (especially NS & PEI), but, recently, I've noticed a lot of Ontario plates in my subdivision. Recent refugees (I mean interprovincial migrants)???

There is apparently chatter that KFC is closing it's Magnetic Hill location. The source heard this info this morning.

Also, a new job advert was posted online confirming the ANBL Agency store at the Magnetic Hill Irving.
The description says "Magnetic Hill Irving is currently expanding and will be the newest ANBL Agency location in the Moncton area".

I find it hard to believe they’d close that KFC less than a year after if it opened.

Another dry spell in development news for greater Moncton, so, I feel compelled to report that the parking lot for the new Subway on Mountain Road is now paved!

I only report this to confirm that I am still alive......

I see the posts about the Hilton being built next to the Hampton. I came in from NS this morning and exited the TCH at 454 and noticed the tracts of land adjacent to the offramp were now listed as sold. I wonder what's planned for there?

The homeowner at the corner of Queensway and Camper City Lane, had his land for sale for years. I wonder if that sold as well? I will have to take a drive by and see.

You can access the McLaughlin Dr Reservoir from there, via a rough and overgrown service road. My kids and I used to bike that a lot.

The new skate park at the Moncton North YMCA is now complete, except for lighting and landscaping.

The park was in full (unofficial) use by neighbourhood kids when I drove by this afternoon (despite the fencing on site).

Just general convo:

I live off killiam dr and every day in rush hour , traffic is back up from home hardware to berry mills shel gas station. People can’t even exist the off-ramp (wheeler) with out risking an accident.

With new apartment being built off millennium blv . I think the city need in the near future figure something out,this is only going to get worse

I was out that way not long ago and the traffic was backed up from the roundabout on Ryan Street all the way onto Berry Mills to the cement plant. With so many people living in the north end now and only 3 roads going there (Berry Mills/Horseman, Mountain and Mapleton) it’s no wonder the traffic is a mess. I think a direct connection from wheeler to Ryan street would make a big difference. They also need to complete redesign how the ramps on wheeler connect to Killiam/Berry Mills.

Eventually, the MID West Industrial Park will be connected directly through to the main MID Park. This is not pie-in-the-sky. The plans are there, and Horsman Rd will be connected through to DeLong Drive. They are planning to build an overpass for Horsman Rd across the CNR mainline. I believe the work may begin next year. They have actually secured a couple of large tenants for the lands that will be opened up by the industrial park expansion.

By completing Horsman through to DeLong, this could have the effect of decompressing inbound traffic on Berry Mills Road. This would be a secondary benefit from the industrial park expansion, but, since this is not the intended result, would not be enough. DeLong remains a two lane road, and, connects fairly awkwardly through to Edinburgh Drive.

If the city and province wants to deal with the problem more seriously, then Horsman should be extended further south and connect with St. George Blvd.
