Stantec is far nicer. But the best views of 6XG are its least photographed, from the North and West. The residential floors look better with more balconies, and the CVC's angled slice is really best seen from the Northwest.

This is just a Street View shot, but I was at a House Park night game in September and the tower is utterly dominant from the West stand. It's a great view.

Echostatic, you are going on record as stating a blue rectangle with no variation is far nicer than this tower? I do not understand this thinking. That tower is everything skyscraper enthusiasts detest. Re-evaluate friend.

Yeah, no, the city can't disapprove of a project just because it's "ugly". Architecture is art, and as such, it's open for debate about what is and what isn't beautiful. Even on the matter of exhaust vents isn't enough to give the city a right to reject a design. The only time some kind of engineering/design fault can be denied approval is when public safety becomes a concern.

If "ugly" was the determining factor, none of the things on East Ave would have been built.

I agree with everything you said about design and art… as my previous comment made clear if you read it…

What you aren’t understanding is that I also happen to think that public safety IS a concern here. Collected hard material on the outside of the building can eventually chip off under its own weight, fall, and injure someone at the ground level. It’s almost like you’re all choosing to ignore that part of my statements.

Paving of Guad and 6th happened over the weekend and the lane closures are all cleaned up. The sidewalk is also finally open, which I'm pretty psyched about. Just the ATX Tower lane closures are at that intersection now.

I walked by 6x lastnight and noticed water coming out of all the light sockets underneath the overhang with the lights on. The sidewalk was soaked. This was hours after it rained. I took some vids and sent them to Kevin to show him. Was a total mess and made me wonder how much water got stuck in there.
