Nice to see a green roof. Disappointed this is the first one. Also surprised a few of those are fairly dark.

That area is starting to come together nicely, now that more things are being finished off. should look even better when more landscaping is in place.

My biggest disappointment is the beige brick at Aalto. Wish they would have gone with red brick. The ground level is also quite bad. I get that it houses the plant, but more windows as was rendered, and/or a mural would have been nice.

Some activity around the slope.

I hate that job NCC(?) did on the river bank. The road they built will end up washed away in the spring along with all these jersey barriers.

This looks like something that looked pretty cool in renders but ended up pretty terrible in reality. It's a big unwelcoming mess, just like Nepean Point.

I actually think it looked like shit on renders and the result looks better. The reason why there is nothing there is because it will be under a moving water every spring.

Still don't understand some decisions here, like piles of small rocks that will be all over the place within a year. Did they just run out of the slabs?

So...get this. I am looking really forward to the Block 204 CharcWhite. At the end of the day, it's not about the Charcoal Brick for me, it's about the lack of imagination and variety in most parts of the city. This area is going to look wicked with all the different colours and shades and materials and heights.

Variety is the Spice of Life

I think we need an official CharcWhite definition, is it the colour palete or the material choice? Yes block 204 uses the colour palete, but I definetly find the current version of the tower hard to compare to other CharcWhite's.

Current version Left, original version Right:

For me a CharcWhite is any building that has predominantly charcoal and white cladding, whether it be aluminum panelling, brick, ceramic panelling, or anything else. Basically 98% of 21st century mid-high rise construction in this city.

The new building on the Quebec side is 'Aalto 2'. Interesting...I would have thought 'O2', because it looks more like 'O' than Aalto. I think Aalto 2 might be the most architecturally meritless 21st century building in the NCR.

While I was OK with the CharcWhite because it would be a contrast in that location, but this is just a perfectly classy and timeless new design as far as I'm concerned. I like the red brick and the black mullions, I don't know if we have that anywhere else. We are losing all that red brick at Terrasses, so it's nice to see all the red on the island. A splash of colour in a very grey city.

The previous design was so much better! This is Gatineau side looking.
