I'm just blown away the glass extends over the balcony slabs. I thought that was illegal in Ottawa

Today I noted a dental clinic has taken a large chunk of the retail at 1960 Scott. So not anything interesting although since Richmond/WellingtonW both have lots of dental clinics along them, perhaps that's the definition of main street in this part of town.

Scott will never have a main street feel so long as that open trench runs along it. It could be Ottawa's best place for a 'Grand Boulevard' if they covered that trench up and reconnected the streets.

Imagine paying as much as these will cost and only having a little Romeo and Juliet balcony that you can't even sit on.

I still can't believe no one at City Hall is talking about decking over the Scott Street trench. With thousands of units going up along Scott and constant conversations about lack of greenspace in the core, and of course Line 1 issues related to sun kinks, lightning strikes and ice, this seems like a no brainer. I could become an iconic strip in Ottawa's urbanism, combining cycling transit and a well designed urban park from Churchill to Bayview, and connect to the NCC Parks District of LeBreton.

Yeah, they look smaller than what they did on the rendering, at least in depth. Still better than northing IMO.

For real, covering the trench seems like a no brainer. Without even looking at a map it would be a great way to interconnect neighborhoods and free up a ton of great space.

Cool, and different. The fact that the balcony placement is interesting will also help make the overall design more unique and attractive.

I wasn't sure what you meant until I scrolled up and saw the sea water green balcony glass on the first floor. Quite the contrast and not in a good way. I think the same ish color tone but in a dark blue or grey blue would have been much more complimentary.

I guess wait and see how it plays out over the whole building but those balconies are going to stick out like a sore thumb as I see it now.

*quick edit * the full glass cover and railings and little buttons look awesome. I just question the color tone.

Looks like the tower went from dark grey/black to grey and the balconies from grey to teal.

Also, anybody notice those bottom two middle units that have balcony doors but no balcony. I wonder if there gonna put a metal frame for them or something of the sort…

I believe there are balcony slabs at those locations. Just not ready to receive the glass yet.

I see them too albeit they're extremely narrow looking

Looks like they are about to pour the roof slab! Depending on what kind of mechanical penthouse it may have, this one should be topped out in 2 weeks max!

It's been pretty awesome watching the tunney's skyline grown with this project and the 2 Dale over the last 5 years, but its also sad to think that's pretty much it for a while now. There's nothing left on that section of Parkdale, Tunney's Pasture is very likely another decade away from anything happening.
