For some, that’s perfect.

No doubt this project is geared towards retired Boomers who are used to living in the suburbs and like the fact that their car is in an underground garage while they spend their winters down south.

Same market as the Lepine developments in Kanata by Centrum.

Meanwhile towers are being clustered around Place d'Orléans, right where they ought to be.

Interesting that each phase seems to get nicer.

Brigil has recently established an in-house design department. Not sure if they were around early enough to have had an impact on this project but I expect the quality of neighborhoods and buildings from them to be some of the best we see in the region moving forwards.

You can really see the evolution. From the square, beige 2000s design, to the more curvy, but still beige 2010s design and now the same rounded design, but charcoal brick.

These are still masterclasses in architecture compared to their comparative equivalent in Kanata

Point well taken.

I'd say the second Petrie tower is the best.

Yes, you are correct. Nevertheless, I could post photos of the various uninspiring towers from my previous GTA neighbourhood if you'd like to compare. For every Marilyn Munroe tower there are dozens of them.

oh definitely, you're not at all wrong.. I don't deny that.. but even those punch above their weight when compared to some of these new ones in Ottawa. At least throw a Marilyn Monroe-esque tower into the mix in the CBD to break up the bleak bland new construction.

Yes, please. If you have any spare Marilyns we'd be happy to take them.

Seconded. Give us something... anything.

Hoping the Renaissance Marriott is transformational for Ottawa's central skyline.

Please excuse my ignorance as I never go to the east end really, however, I feel like this project is super random. Is there really a market for 6 towers east of trim?

Very, very ugly buildings. I drive past them every single day and they are the ultimate eyesore!
